Different races often have different animations for the same class, as in, a Charr Elementalist will move completely different from a Human or Asura Ele. You can get a whole different "feel" from playing one race or another, starting with size, animation, Fashion-Wars-viability, personal story, etc. It turns out we spawned in different locations because we picked different races. Thankfully I had an old character which was the same race my friend picked, so I was able to fast travel to a waypoint in their area with my new character. I spent way more time grinding in GW2 than I did in BDO, and I felt far more powerful and rewarded for it in BDO than I ever did in GW2. BDO is a game where knowledge trumps effort, where the path of least resistance is often grinding and crafting smarter, not harder. I hope you find enjoyment in Guild Wars 2, though.
