I'd like to replace the 10w oil in the front forks with 15w to try and slow down the dive a little (I'm a fat git on a small bike). To all intents and purposes my bike is a 2010 YBR125 My question is, how do I know the correct amount of oil is in without taking the legs out and apart?
The forks seem to be the stock Kayaba's but I couldn't swear to it. I got my hands on a manual that covers 92-96 models but I am a little confused about the stated oil height or capacity for the "after '93" it has standard capacity of 549cc or 4.5 inches and the free spring length is 512mm but when I pulled my forks apart the spring length isby kawagumby ยป 01:08 pm May 24 2012. Most forks are designed to work with 5 wt oil. If your forks don't adjust enough to fall into the range you need, you can use different weight oils to compensate. Just remember that the heavier oil will increase resistance for both compression and rebound. Going from 5 weight to 10 weight is a fairly large Jan 21, 2008. #6. If you keep it and ride it, take your original aluminum gas tank off put it in safe storage and find a gas tank that you do not care about so much. I hear a plastic 1980 cr125 tank can be modified to fit. and also remove the original 23 inch front wheel and put that in a safe place and replace it with a common 21 inch wheel
